The name Teagan is Gaelic for beautiful, good looking and worldly. Although primarily a girl’s name it was also a common boys name in the 18th century . Our company Teagan Co is named after our daughter Teagan and is located in Winter Park, Florida. We are an original designer of jewelry and strive to produce pieces and collections that are true to our name ie. beautiful, good-looking and worldly.

Several years ago while shopping for a special Mothers Day gift Teagan and I were struck by the beauty, shape and vivid colors of a 7th century Etruscan necklace. As we shopped it became obvious that there existed a large gap between costume and fine jewelry.

Teagan a talented young artist began sketching jewelry designs and bringing me ideas. Soon we felt we had the basis for a line of jewelry where we could combine our idea of quality materials and workmanship with creativity. Later we added the concepts of color, collectability, simplicity and choices or combinations.

When we started adding logos the idea immediately resonated with the college crowd and started spreading to alumni, fraternities, corporations and professional groups. In some circles a new language or lexicon began using the shortened version Teagie to describe the good-looking beads. Lately, the term has expanded to describe items of clothing such as “That’s a Teagie skirt!” and even people as in “There goes a Teagie guy or girl.” Stay tuned and send me your own version.

Any way we hope you find the “Teagie Look” simple, luxurious and smart. Whether worn with casual or dressy clothes these pieces express a subtle but meaningful statement and attitude.
